Beautiful VINTAGE BUTTERFLY WING BRACELET in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal for sale
During the 1920′s – 1930′s a particular type of English jewellery was popular. It was made from sterling silver and enclosed, as its background, the delicate (usually blue) wing of the Morpho tropical butterfly. This particular butterfly is to be found in South America.
The foliage and land features of each scene is hand painted on the reverse of the shallow dome, and mounted over a background of irrdescent, natural Morpho butterfly wing.
The morpho butterfly wing is used as the background. The shimmering wing gives an effect like a sunset in multiple colors.
